When I first opened the pack, I caught a subtle coffee scent, but it’s actually quite sweet. The flavor is super mild, though it’s definitely a bit more bitter than Mañanita, it honestly felt like I was drinking a light coffee the whole time. I did not really get much of an energy kick from it, so I think this would be a solid choice for beginners. In my experience, the flavor washes out pretty quickly and it really only held up for about 300ml of water. Compared to Mañanita, it’s milder, but the smell is better.

That said, I still prefer Mañanita since it gives me enough energy to get through the day. I brew all my mate at 65-70°C. I am definitely going to try this as a Tereré, though.

Update: I tried it with a squeeze of lemon and it creates a really tasty foam. It’s a true pleasure to drink it this way! I’ve spent the whole summer enjoying tereré with lemon, and it’s been such a refreshing way to cool down. I love this amazing drink from South America.
